Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in precision machining, a strong understanding of quality control processes, and a keen eye for detail. This role ensures that our aerospace components meet customer specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on machined aerospace components.
• Utilize precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), and optical comparators.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications.
• Document inspection results and generate quality reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports) per AS9102 standards.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Work closely with machinists, engineers, and production teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Maintain calibration records for measuring equipment.
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in aerospace quality inspection or precision machining.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, AS9102 First Article Inspection, and AS9100 quality standards.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and CMM operation (Mitutoyo, or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Experience with non-conformance reporting and corrective action processes.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and quality management software is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• CMM programming experience (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar).
• Familiarity with aerospace industry standards (NADCAP, ITAR compliance, etc.).
• Experience with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and Six Sigma methodologies.
