You will translate performance needs into rigorous specs, design components and propellants, and work with manufacturing to ensure producibility. At a privately held, long-established propulsion manufacturer, you will be the technical owner of pyrotechnic and energetic components—initiators, igniters, gas generators—shaping them from first concept through qualification.A day in the roleKick off with requirements: translate performance needs into clear, testable specifications and verification plans.Move into design: engineer components and propellants, run analyses, and collaborate with manufacturing to ensure producibility.Head to the lab: plan and conduct development and qualification tests; reduce data and interpret results to guide design decisions.Close the loop: prepare test plans, technical reports, and documentation suites for internal and customer review.Ensure compliance: interpret applicable government regulations, standards, and safety procedures for energetic devices.What you bring10+ years leading development and qualification of energetic components.Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering; Project Management also considered.Working knowledge of requirements verification and validation (V&V).Familiarity with ammunition and explosive certification processes.Excellent analytical, organizational, and documentation skills with strong attention to detail.Clear, concise technical writing and presentation abilities.Why this teamJoin a stable, privately owned company with a culture of long engineering tenures—far from defense-prime layoff cycles.
