Job summary

Ace Precision Machining Corporation is seeking a Buyer to ensure our manufacturing teams have the materials, equipment, services, and supplies needed to keep production moving. You will learn our purchasing processes and take ownership of assigned responsibilities, collaborating with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve supplier issues.

You will research suppliers, obtain pricing, place orders, and track deliveries while maintaining accurate records in Epicor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
• APICS or CPM certification is preferred.
• Experience with an ERP system; Epicor experience is a plus.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Windows and Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through on commitments.
• Willingness to learn, collaborate, and continuously improve purchasing processes.

Responsibilities

• Support the purchasing process from start to finish, including researching suppliers, obtaining pricing, placing orders, and tracking deliveries.
• Work with experienced Buyers to manage material requirements and ensure purchase orders are completed accurately and on time.
• Prepare and maintain purchase orders and other supplier agreements while keeping records accurate in the Epicor ERP system.
• Research pricing, lead times, and supplier capabilities to help identify opportunities for improved cost, delivery, and quality.
• Assist with supplier bids and proposals, following established purchasing policies and procedures.
• Help maintain the approved supplier list by coordinating required forms and documentation.
• Build and maintain positive supplier relationships, communicating regularly to address questions, delivery concerns, and product requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance using quarterly supplier scorecards and help identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support quality and compliance efforts, including participation in internal and external quality audits when needed.
• Partner with Production, Quality, Engineering, and other departments to resolve purchasing and supplier issues.
• Stay organized and plan ahead to help maintain production schedules and avoid material shortages.
• Learn and follow Ace Precision's Quality System Work Instructions and purchasing procedures.
