Job summary

Intuitive Machines is seeking a Professional Editing Specialist to produce clear, polished proposals and technical documents. This individual contributor role supports Business Development and proposal teams through expert editing, formatting, and production of multi-volume submissions for government and commercial clients.

You will translate instructions, maintain templates, and ensure editorial quality across volumes while coordinating with authors, graphics, and proposal leads to meet RFP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, technical communication, or a related field.
• Three or more years of professional editing and document production experience with proposals or other complex documents.
• Excellent command of written English, with ability to improve clarity while preserving meaning.

Responsibilities

• Translate RFP instructions into volume-specific templates and production checklists.
• Create and maintain Word templates with reusable styles and automated numbering.
• Assemble, split, distribute, and recombine proposal sections across review cycles.
• Maintain controlled working files and coordinate tracked changes and revisions.
• Partner with graphics team on visual style; ensure fonts, colors, and captions meet requirements.
• Create and refine PowerPoint layouts and diagrams; integrate visuals into volumes.
• Use Acrobat Pro to convert, assemble, and optimize PDFs and verify rendering.
• Perform editorial and formatting quality checks across volumes and flag gaps.
• Prepare final submission files and verified production sets for approval.
• Maintain templates and production checklists; coordinate deadlines with proposal leads.
