Job summary

Aeronautical engineering services in Portland, OR is seeking a Chief of Staff to close the capacity gap between programs, engineering, and clients. You will report to a partner and blend program management, client relations, business development, and internal operations.

In this role you will shepherd a program from proposal through six months of execution, drive tradeoffs, manage schedules and budgets, and help build templates and processes to scale the firm’s future programs.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of professional experience.
• Quantitative background; engineering degree is a plus.
• Comfort discussing physics concepts with engineers.
• Ownership mindset; fast, independent work.
• Ability to communicate with senior business leaders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Run development programs end to end with plan, schedule, budget, and client relationship.
• Steer programs when plans change and manage tradeoffs.
• Manage clients and frame tradeoffs to support the aircraft.
• Push engineering to ensure proper scoping and sequencing.
• Pull program data, analyze hours, and present recommendations.
• Support capture and proposal work and build context.
• Improve operating system, templates, and SOPs for faster ramps.
