Job summary

Aeronautical engineering services is seeking a Chief of Staff to close the gap between proposals and execution on multiple aircraft programs in Portland. You will report to a partner and blend program management, client management, business development, and internal operations.

The role emphasizes owning programs from proposal through six months of reality, with a path to autonomous leadership and weekly updates to the partner. Relocation is strongly preferred and on-site work is required.

Qualifications

• Four to eight years of professional experience.
• Quantitative background; engineering undergrad is a plus.
• Ability to discuss technical topics with business leaders.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Self-motivated, independent and ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Run development programs end to end with a Chief Engineer; own plan, schedule, budget, and client relationship.
• Steer programs when plans change and manage trade-offs.
• Manage client expectations and frame requests to serve the aircraft program.
• Push for well-scoped and sequenced work on the engineering side.
• Analyze program data to inform recommendations and not just pivot tables.
• Support capture and proposal work and build context for future work.
• Improve operating systems, templates, and SOPs for faster ramp.
