Job summary

Rock West Composites, Inc. in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Program Manager for the Aerospace and Defense segment. You will lead cross-functional teams, drive programs from conception to closure, and deliver budgets, schedules, and technical plans aligned with customer needs.

You'll cultivate relationships with key clients, exceed annual sales targets, and use Salesforce to manage accounts and proposals. The role reports to the Segment Director and anchors growth across diverse industries.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in engineering or materials science or 15+ years in manufacturing composites.
• 3 years of experience in a composite manufacturing environment.
• 2 years of program management experience.
• Experience budgeting and tracking expenditures and profit.
• Experience communicating with customers.
• Strong knowledge of composite materials and processing methods.
• US person under 22 CFR 120 (ITAR restrictions).

Responsibilities

• Own projects, customers, and initiatives from conception to closure.
• Create budgets, schedules, and technical plans to meet customer requirements.
• Define the approach for design, tooling, fabrication, and inspection to meet requirements.
• Define product requirements and specifications with customers.
• Define conformance methods for quality buy-off.
• Track project budget, schedule, and technical performance.
• Support planning of manpower, cash flow, and shipments.
• Create purchase orders and vendor statements of work to meet program goals.
• Identify and engage key clients across Aerospace, Defense, Sports, Maritime, Oil/Energy.
• Exceed annual orders targets via traditional and nontraditional business development methods.
• Manage customer relationships and draft statements of work with budgets.
