Job summary

PPG is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Sylmar, CA facility to oversee 2nd shift production staff in the fabrication and processing of Aerospace Transparency materials. This onsite role reports to the Production Operations Manager and collaborates with area supervisors to meet quality and delivery targets.

Responsibilities include training staff, implementing lean and SPC practices, managing staffing levels, and ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or higher with leadership experience.
• High school diploma with 5+ years of leadership experience.
• Experience in aerospace or related manufacturing environments preferred.
• Familiarity with AS9100 and kaizen events.

Job description

As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising production staff in the fabrication and processing of Aerospace Transparency materials. This position is a 2nd shift position located fully onsite in our Sylmar, CA. facility. You will report to the Production Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• - Works as a team with functional area supervisors and managers to accomplish objectives and meet customer requirements of quality, service and performance expectations
• - Responsible for identifying and eliminating waste in all phases of the production processes
• - Trains, cross-trains and maintains proficiency records of employees
• - Identifies Recommends proper staffing levels based on production needs
• - Applies lean manufacturing and SPC principles
• - Maintains inventory control and accuracy
• - Supervises the shift production teams. Ensures that each team member adheres to all company policies and procedures regarding safety, health, and the environment and that vital training programs are in place to ensure that all applicable standards are met. You will encourage a continuous improvement of individual and team performance, as well as align with all EEO policies and procedures
• - Coordinates work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to improve efficiency

Qualifications

• - Must be willing and able to obtain a secret clearance
• - Bachelors degree and 2+ years of leadership experience
• - High school diploma and 5+ years of leadership experience required
• - Aerospace industry experience preferred
• - Familiarity with AS9100, lean manufacturing principles, and kaizen events

The base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $105,000, with a possibility of an annual bonus up to 7% of base salary.
