Job summary

VAERO in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead an assembly team of aerospace professionals. You will drive daily manufacturing operations, align resources to the production schedule, and apply Lean/Six Sigma to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

You will supervise 20+ hourly staff, coordinate maintenance with Engineering, and collaborate across Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of manufacturing leadership or production support experience; aerospace or precision manufacturing preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate teams and resolve conflicts constructively.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision making.
• Hands-on experience applying Lean and Six Sigma tools in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (SAP or equivalent).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills across organizational levels.
• Working knowledge of fabrication processes such as routing, forming, bending, heat treat, straightening, and machining is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing operations to meet or exceed KPIs in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
• Monitor performance metrics and identify trends or issues using data analysis and observation.
• Supervise a team of 20+ hourly employees in assembly of aerospace products.
• Align labor, equipment, and materials to meet production schedules; develop staffing and training plans.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize throughput.
• Drive continuous improvement using root cause analysis, 5S, and process mapping.
• Collaborate with Planning, Quality, Engineering, Program Management, and Supply Chain for on-time delivery.
• Coach and evaluate team members to align with Vaero’s values and standards.
• Ensure compliance with policies, AS9100/ISO standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Administer discipline per HR guidelines; respond to performance/conduct issues.
• Support dynamic production needs and maintain operational success.

Lead an assembly team of Aircraft Structural Mechanics, Electrical Installers and more within Vaero Jacksonville to safely produce high-quality aerospace components on schedule and within budget. The Production Supervisor drives operational excellence through proactive leadership, data-driven decision-making, and a continuous improvement mindset, while developing a capable, engaged workforce.

• Lead daily manufacturing operations to meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
• Monitor performance metrics and proactively identify trends or issues using data analysis and firsthand observation. Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste, improve flow, and increase productivity.
• Supervise a team of 20+ hourly employees engaged in assembly of aerospace products.
• Align labor, equipment, and materials to meet the production schedule. Develop staffing and training plans using capacity and demand data to ensure efficient resource utilization.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with Maintenance and Engineering to minimize equipment downtime and optimize throughput. Leverage Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices and operator involvement.
• Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency using tools such as root cause analysis, A3 problem solving, 5S, and process mapping.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Planning, Quality, Engineering, Program Management, and Supply Chain to ensure on-time delivery and effective communication of schedule recovery actions when needed.
• Coach, develop, and evaluate team members to align with Vaero’s values, performance expectations, and behavioral standards. Foster accountability, engagement, and a culture of respect and inclusion.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, AS9100/ISO standards, and regulatory requirements in all production activities.
• Administer discipline fairly and consistently in accordance with HR guidelines and company policy when performance or conduct issues arise.
