Job summary

Salient Motion is seeking a detail‑oriented Buyer to support purchasing, supplier coordination and data accuracy across our hardware programs in a fast‑moving aerospace and defense environment.

You will issue purchase orders, track quotes and open orders, and build reports while collaborating with engineering, production, finance and operations to ensure materials are available when needed. This is ideal for someone early in their career.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, operations, data analysis, or a similar role.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, lookups, data cleanup, and reporting.
• High attention to detail and strong follow through.
• Strong communication skills with ability to work across engineering, production, finance, and suppliers.
• Experience in a fast-paced startup building hardware for aerospace and defense projects.
• U.S. citizen or GC/EAD.

Responsibilities

• Issue purchase orders and collect supplier quotes.
• Track open orders and maintain accurate supplier and pricing data.
• Build reports to support purchasing and planning decisions.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, finance, and operations to ensure materials are available.
