Job summary

CMI Group - Systems 3 Division in Tempe, AZ seeks a Precision Deburr & Hand Finishing Technician to perform precision deburring, edge breaking, and cosmetic blending on complex aerospace machined components. You will use pneumatic, electric, and manual tools to remove burrs while protecting critical dimensions and surface finishes.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in aerospace deburring, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of precision deburring or hand finishing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprint notes, deburr sketches, and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience using pneumatic, electric, and manual deburring tools.
• Working knowledge of abrasives, carbide burrs, polishing media, brushes, stones, and finishing techniques for aerospace materials.
• Ability to recognize burrs, sharp edges, tool marks, and cosmetic defects while preserving dimensional requirements.
• Strong manual dexterity and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform seated/standing precision work.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deburr, edge break, radius, blend, polish, and hand finish precision-machined aerospace components according to drawings and specs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, deburr sketches, routings, travelers, and notes.
• Remove burrs while maintaining dimensional integrity and surface finishes.
• Operate pneumatic, electric, and hand-held deburring tools; use micro-blasters and polishing equipment.
• Inspect visually and dimensionally to verify conformance to requirements throughout finishing.
• Identify defects and communicate issues to Quality and Manufacturing teams.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and accurate production records.
