Héroux-Devtek in Strongsville, OH, is seeking a Plater to prepare, maintain, and operate chrome, nickel, and cadmium plating tanks for both commercial and military landing gear components. The role emphasizes adherence to AS9100 quality standards and close collaboration with process specialists to optimize production and quality.

The ideal candidate has plating experience, good blueprint interpretation skills, and the ability to read and apply work instructions.

Qualifications

• Experience with plating processes (chrome, nickel, cadmium) and preparatory steps.
• Knowledge of masking and lead tapes is desirable.
• Experience using conforming anodes in plating processes is desirable.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Skilled at blueprint interpretation.
• Competent in the use and setting of hand gauges.

Responsibilities

• Plating and electro-plating parts with hard chrome, cadmium-titanium, and sulfamate nickel.
• Surface preparation: grit blast, masking, and cleaning of surfaces.
• Post plating: cleaning, baking, and stripping of plating.
• Read and apply work instructions, blueprints, or other documentation.
• Install conforming plating anodes on parts.
• Measure surfaces before and after plating with gauges and meters.
• Transport parts into plating tanks, ovens, and machining dept using lifting equipment.
• Document and maintain traceability for all parts per AS9100 and quality requirements.
• Evaluate plating problems and suggest solutions.
• Work with process specialists and management to improve processes for production times and quality.
