Job summary

Ascent Aerospace in Michigan is seeking a skilled Fixture Builder to fabricate, repair or plumb fixtures using machining equipment and hand tools, supporting aerospace manufacturing.

You will interpret blueprints and specifications, review tool design drawings, order parts, assist with air and hydraulic systems, and collaborate with Design and Build Leads to develop best tooling solutions. Occasional travel to other site locations may be required.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience with building fixtures.
• U.S. Person as defined by 22.C.F.R. is required (Export Control compliance).

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and upgrade fixtures, jigs, gauges, hand applications and pneumatic fixtures.
• Read blueprints and specifications; determine methods and sequence of operations to fabricate tools.
• Review tool design drawings and order parts for tools.
• Assist maintaining shop air supply and all air and hydraulic components including lines and fittings.
• Work with Design and Build Leads to develop tooling solutions.
• Vacuum & Helium testing.
• Any additional duties as reasonably assigned by management.
