Job summary

Independence Tooling is seeking a Fixture Builder to join our team. You will build and assemble fixtures, jigs, gauges, and tooling in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications, and interpret blueprints and GD&T to ensure accuracy.

You will perform precision fitting, align components, and verify correct operation through testing, while troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of Fixture/Tool Building.
• Knowledge of materials, machining, assembly methods, and mathematics.
• Familiar with automotive and aerospace tooling, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Prior assembly experience required.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble fixtures, jigs, gauges, and tooling according to drawings and specifications.
• Interpret blueprints, GD&T requirements, and documentation to ensure accurate construction.
• Perform precision fitting, alignment, and adjustment of fixture components to meet tolerances.
• Operate hand/tools and machining equipment to fabricate, modify, and repair fixtures.
• Conduct functional testing and verification of fixtures to ensure proper operation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve fixture-related issues to minimize downtime.
