Job summary

Hydraulics International, Inc. in Chatsworth, CA is seeking a skilled Painter III to prepare surfaces, mix primers and paints, and apply coatings to a wide range of parts.

You will operate spray equipment, monitor curing cycles, and uphold strict quality standards in a busy production environment. Required are 5–10 years of paint shop experience (aerospace/automotive preferred), ability to read blueprints, and capability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of paint shop experience, preferably in aerospace or automotive industries.
• Ability to mix and prepare primers and paints with different finishes (gloss/semi-gloss/flat).
• Basic reading of blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Experience with work orders and production documentation.
• Pass a respirator fit test and a pulmonary function test if required.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and clean surfaces for painting by sanding and solvent wipe-downs.
• Mask designated surfaces before painting.
• Load and unload parts onto paint racks.
• Mix primers and paints per manufacturer instructions.
• Verify surface readiness before priming/painting.
• Apply primers and paints using spray equipment for various parts.
• Operate curing ovens and monitor temperatures and curing cycles.
• Perform visual inspections to ensure quality.
• Maintain and clean paint booth equipment and spray guns.
• Seek opportunities to improve painting processes and quality control.
