Job summary

Epic Aircraft in Bend, Oregon, seeks an Experienced Paint Detailer with color sanding expertise to finish completed aircraft with superior quality. The role focuses on correcting paint, sanding, polishing, and buffing surfaces to show-level finishes.

Ideal candidates have collision repair or restoration experience and can work independently while collaborating with painters and technicians. DOE hourly pay, day and afternoon shifts, and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Professional detailing, collision repair, automotive refinishing, restoration experience.
• Color sanding/wet sanding and paint correction expertise.
• Ability to cut and buff fresh clear coat and identify finish imperfections.
• Strong understanding of sanding, polishing compounds, pads, and finishing processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work carefully around freshly painted surfaces.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed finishing and paint correction on completed aircraft and components.
• Perform color sanding/wet sanding to remove imperfections and achieve a smooth finish.
• Cut and buff freshly painted surfaces to achieve high-gloss finish.
• Identify and correct paint defects such as runs, dirt, dust, scratches, orange peel.
• Perform machine and hand polishing using appropriate compounds, pads, and techniques.
• Safely work around fresh paint and clear coat without damage to surfaces.
• Inspect surfaces under proper lighting to ensure consistency of quality.
• Assist with final detailing and preparation of aircraft prior to delivery.
• Maintain and care for polishing machines, sanding equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
