Job summary

Seiler Instrument & Manufacturing Company, Inc. seeks skilled Optical-Mechanical Assemblers for its Aerospace & Defense division. You will assemble, calibrate, test instruments and subassemblies, and interpret mil-specifications and blueprints.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and 3 years of optical-mechanical assembly experience, with strong fine motor skills and manual dexterity. The role requires lifting up to 40 lbs and comfortable use of measuring tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical school, or 3 years verifiable experience, in optical-mechanical assembly required.
• Soldering and electrical circuitry experience preferred.
• Fine motor skills/manual dexterity required: pinching, pressing, rotating, tweezers, delicate tool work.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, adjust/calibrate, clean, and test instruments and subassemblies.
• Perform wiring diagnostics and troubleshoot instruments, components, and systems.
• Interpret mil-specifications and blueprints/drawings.
• Read calipers, height gauges, collimators, VOMs and other measuring devices.
• Demonstrate understanding of complex mechanical components and calibrations.
• Use hand tools and light machinery (e.g., drill press).
