Job summary

SEILER INSTRUMENT & MANUFACTURING CO INC is seeking skilled Optical-Mechanical Assemblers for our Aerospace & Defense Division to join a team that builds high-precision optical-mechanical systems.

You will assemble, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot subassemblies, interpret mil-spec drawings, and read calipers, VOMs, and other gauges. Requires a HS diploma or GED, technical schooling or 3 years in optical-mechanical assembly, and strong manual dexterity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical school or 3 years verifiable optical-mechanical assembly experience required.
• Soldering and electrical circuitry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, adjust/calibrate, clean, and test instruments and subassemblies.
• Performs wiring diagnostics and troubleshooting of instruments, components and systems.
• Must interpret mil-specifications and blueprints/drawings.
• Must be proficient in reading calipers, height gauges, collimators, VOMs and other measuring devices.
• Demonstrates understanding of complicated mechanical components, precision fit recommendations, instrument qualifications and calibrations.
• Uses hand tools and light machinery (e.g. drill press).
