Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Elkton, MD is seeking a Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Technician at Level 2 or 3 to perform NDT on aerospace components, using radiography, ultrasound and penetrant inspections. Certifications and ability to obtain clearance are required.

The role involves operating X-ray, CT, UT equipment, and advancing Level II qualifications with ongoing training. This position is based at Elkton, Maryland with potential overtime and shift considerations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
• 2+ years of experience as an industrial NDT technician.
• Current Level 2 ASNT or NAS 410 certification in RT/UT/PT with at least 2 years of Level 2 experience.
• Strong mathematical skills including basic algebra.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Demonstrated written and oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• U.S. Citizenship; able to obtain Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Operate high and low energy X-radiation equipment and related processors and CT equipment.
• Operate ultrasonic flaw detector for pulse echo and angle beam inspections.
• Perform Dye penetrant tests (types I and II), methods A, B, and C.
• Interpret, evaluate and document accept/reject decisions.
• Obtain and maintain Level II certifications in radiography, ultrasound, and penetrant inspection methods.
• Receive guidance and training from a certified Level 2 or 3 NDT technician.
