Job summary

Joby Aviation is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), 1st Shift, to conduct specialized inspections across composites, metals, and additive manufactured parts. You will report to Quality Control leadership and ensure structural integrity and engineering conformance per approved techniques.

The role covers UT, CT, PT, and ET modalities, with growth through NAS 410 and FAA-aligned processes.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and material specifications.
• Familiarity with industry NDT qualification standards (NAS 410, ASNT, ASTM).
• Proficiency with ERP/MES software and Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

• Inspect composite structures, metallic components, additive manufactured parts, and assemblies using UT/CT/PT/ET.
• Set up, calibrate, and standardize NDT equipment and CT/X-ray systems.
• Interpret scanning data and logs against drawings, acceptance criteria, and quality standards.
• Document findings and issue MRB tags when discontinuities exceed limits.
• Collaborate with NDT Engineers and shop-floor teams on technique development and investigations.
• Maintain FAA, NADCAP and NAS 410 compliant practices.
