Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. in Kansas is seeking a Non-Destructive Inspection Engineer to develop and apply NDI techniques for aerospace materials and structures.

You will work with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams to implement automated NDI systems and support integration of robotics for inspection. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET-accredited), 2+ years in NDI/NDT, and experience with UT, ET, RT, PT, MT or similar.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree
• 2+ years in NDI/NDT in engineering/manufacturing
• Knowledge of NDI theory, inspection physics, data interpretation
• Experience with NDI methods (UT/ET/RT/PT/MT or similar)
• Experience with automation/robotics for NDI

Responsibilities

• Apply NDI methods to aerospace materials and structures
• Develop and implement NDI techniques for composites and metals
• Integrate automated/robotic NDI inspection solutions
• Support programming, testing, and troubleshooting of NDI equipment
• Review drawings and specifications to determine NDI requirements
