Job summary

Axius Group is seeking an experienced NC Programmer in Wichita, KS to develop and optimize CNC programs for aerospace components. You will create machine tool paths from CAD/CAM models and engineering specs to ensure precision, quality, and productivity on the shop floor.

The role requires strong knowledge of G-code/M-code, GD&T, and CAD/CAM tools (Mastercam, CATIA V5, Siemens NX). Collaboration with engineering, quality, and production teams is essential to meet stringent aerospace standards.

Qualifications

• Experience writing and editing G-code and M-code for CNC machines.
• Knowledge of GD&T and reading engineering blueprints.
• Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards and aerospace machining requirements.
• Hands-on experience with CAD/CAM software for NC programming.

Responsibilities

• Create, test, and optimize NC programs for CNC machines based on CAD models and specs.
• Develop efficient tool paths for milling, turning, and multi-axis operations to reduce cycle time.
• Assist with setup and selection of tooling, fixtures, and machine parameters.
• Identify and resolve programming issues to optimize performance and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and quality teams to meet engineering and production goals.
• Maintain detailed records of NC programs, tool lists, and setup sheets.
