Job summary

Projects Inc. is seeking an experienced Material Review Board Engineer to support the disposition, investigation, and resolution of nonconforming product within a precision aerospace manufacturing environment.

This role goes far beyond processing Non-Conformance Material Reviews (NCMs). The successful candidate will evaluate complex manufacturing issues, lead root cause investigations, assess risk to product and customer requirements, and drive corrective actions that improve process capability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering.
• 3+ years in aerospace manufacturing, quality engineering, MRB engineering, or related roles.
• Strong GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
• Experience evaluating dimensional nonconformance and engineering deviations.
• Experience with machining, inspection methods, and manufacturing processes.
• Root cause investigations and corrective action experience.
• Clear communication of technical findings to diverse audiences.
• Aerospace industry experience; AS9100 experience; MRB authority experience.
• Familiarity with SPC, MSA, Gauge R&R, PFMEA, and statistical problem-solving methods.
• Experience with CMM inspection and dimensional analysis.
• Experience with precision machined components and tight-tolerance environments.

Responsibilities

• Review and disposition nonconforming material per requirements.
• Evaluate product against drawings, GD&T, and standards.
• Lead RCCA investigations related to manufacturing, inspection, and process non-conformance.
• Conduct technical investigations on machining, inspection, tooling, fixtures, assembly, and special processes.
• Analyze data to identify trends, recurring issues, and systemic weaknesses.
• Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, PM, and Customers to resolve issues.
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Participate in customer audits, RCCA reviews, and quality initiatives.
• Support continuous improvement to reduce escapes, scrap, rework, and process variation.
• Evaluate risk and provide technically sound recommendations under pressure.
