Job summary

Frontgrade Technologies in New York, NY seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer (Technical Fellow) to architect and develop next-generation motor control systems for aerospace applications. You will lead a multidisciplinary team to design, analyze, manufacture and test high-power inverters and motor drives for flight-critical actuation and electric propulsion.

This appointed role provides technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance on complex engineering tasks, from concept through flight

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• M.S. or Ph.D. is highly preferred.
• 8+ years in embedded motor control hardware/software.
• 5+ years in aerospace/high-reliability sectors.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end motor drive designs and high-frequency inverters for stepper/BLDC motors.
• Develop control algorithms (FOC, sensorless) on real-time aerospace MCUs/FPGA/DSPs.
• Lead cross-functional design teams; mentor engineers; drive design reviews.
• Modeling/simulation and validation with MATLAB/Simulink, EMI/EMC analyses.
• Develop hardware test plans and ensure compliance with aerospace standards.
• Interface with vendors for component selection and manufacturability.
