Job summary

RTX Pratt & Whitney Asheville Quality is seeking a Metrology Engineer with CMM programming to provide inspection solutions for the Module Center in Asheville, NC.

You will program CMMs, write analysis scripts, and develop production-ready metrology solutions using PC-DMIS, CAMIO/CMM Manager, and related tools; occasional travel up to 10% is required to benchmark other PW sites. Collaborate with Module Center teams across Quality and Manufacturing to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years CMM programming experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum of 3 years’ experience
• Technical Knowledge of CMM Programming software (e.g. PC-DMIS, Camio, CMM Manager)
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Must be comfortable working in a shop environment and presenting in technical meetings.

Responsibilities

• Programming CMMs and writing analysis scripts for CMM and non-contact inspection devices.
• Occasional direct measurements of artifacts/parts in the Metrology Lab.
• Development of production-ready solutions using newer sensor technology on complex geometries.
• Ensure product and process compliance by providing CMM Inspection solutions per quality systems.
• Integration of automated measurement equipment with highly automated manufacturing cell and information systems.
• Foster and maintain a cooperative relationship with Module Center departments including other Quality and Manufacturing personnel.
• Support day to day Module Center deliverables and initiatives related to CMM inspection.
• Drive product and process improvements that ensure Module Center’s quality metric goals are met.
