Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. seeks a Metallurgist to supervise metallurgical aspects of processes, conduct analyses for continuous improvement, and act as the technical liaison with customers, suppliers, and certifying agencies.

The role includes root cause analyses for nonconforming products and ensuring compliance with AS9100 and related standards. The candidate will write manufacturing plans, define processing parameters, and ensure shipped products conform to approved specifications.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Materials Science with at least 1 year in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of aerospace alloy groups and NADCAP/AS9001 requirements.
• Familiar with ASTM/ASM/AISI/SAE/MIL standards and aerospace QA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and plan metallurgical processes and perform root cause analyses.
• Draft manufacturing plans and define processing parameters.
• Ensure products meet customer metallurgical requirements.
• Maintain external customer relationships and report technical issues.
• Coordinate with QA and suppliers on metallurgical deviations and dispositions.
• Provide metallurgical support to operations and continuous improvement.
