Rocket Lab's Quality Inspector III - Mechanical role is based at our Long Beach, CA HQ. You will perform complex inspections of parts and assemblies, document non-conformances, and collaborate with engineering to enhance inspection points. A strong QA background in mechanical manufacturing and GD&T proficiency are required.

Base pay range for CA is $27-$34 USD. The role supports a Built in Quality culture, with opportunities to contribute to root cause analysis and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a quality assurance role in a quality mechanical manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex mechanical inspections for purchased parts, 3D-printed components, CNC-machined items, electro-mechanical components, and propulsion assemblies.
• Perform all types of precision inspections, including receiving, in process and final assembly inspections.
• Document non-conformance in Rocket Lab systems (ERP, MES, and Issue tracking).
• Collaborate with engineering and management to improve work instructions and identify critical inspection points.
• Coordinate with Production to prioritize workload and meet delivery milestones.
• Embed a Built in Quality philosophy to prevent defects.
