Job summary

RTX is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for its Collins Aerospace unit in Jamestown, ND. You will work with engineers on aircraft mechanical cargo systems, supporting design, integration, and test activities on cross-functional teams including hardware, software, and production.

The role emphasizes CAD design, drawing preparation, and problem-solving across engineering disciplines, with opportunities to contribute to real programs and learn in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Active enrollment through the internship/co-op program.
• Experience gained via coursework, research, or projects is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of aircraft mechanical cargo systems from design to test.
• Collaborate with Customer Teams, Hardware & Software Designers, and production staff.
• Operate CAD software to design components and prepare drawings.
• Address day-to-day technical problems on production lines to minimize disruption.
