Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Mechanical Analysis Engineer specialized in Aircraft Engine Externals in Cincinnati, OH. The role focuses on designing external engine components, ensuring performance, reliability, and safety, with a strong emphasis on FEA analysis and ANSYS simulations.

The position requires US citizenship and willingness to obtain a clearance. This is an onsite role located in Cincinnati, offering growth within a mission‑critical aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (BSME) required.
• 1–3 years of experience in FEA analysis in aerospace or aviation industries.
• Experience with ANSYS.
• U.S. citizens and willing to obtain/hold a clearance.

Responsibilities

• Aide in the design of tubes and ducts for fluid and gas systems for aircraft engine externals, ensuring system functionality.
• Aide in the design of brackets and structural supports to securely mount external components to aircraft engine structures while maintaining structural integrity and minimizing weight.
• Investigate and determine root causes for field failures of aircraft engine external components, proposing and implementing design improvements to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including aerodynamics, design engineers, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of external components into overall engine design.
• Use computational tools to generate analysis models for externals components.
• Analyze, post‑process, and prepare high‑quality presentations of results.
• Conduct design reviews, perform analysis, and create detailed engineering documentation to support the development and certification of aircraft engine external components.
