Job summary

AeroVironment invites students to join its Summer Internship Program, offering immersive, hands-on experience with cutting-edge aerospace technology. Interns will work alongside engineers, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop problem-solving skills through real-world design challenges.

The program is selective, with opportunities across multiple roles and locations in the U.S., and includes exposure to ITAR/EAR compliant work environments.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on prototyping, lab testing, or mechanical assembly experience from academics or projects.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; eager to learn in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing mechanical components and systems including airframes and payload enclosures.
• Create and modify 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Support simulation and analysis tasks using SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS.
• Participate in prototype fabrication, assembly, and testing using in-house tools.
• Generate technical drawings and bills of materials per drafting standards.
• Collaborate with engineers to support design reviews, tests, and integration.
