Job summary

RTX's Mechanical Engineering Co-Op in the United States supports the Undersea & Electronics Systems division, contributing to mechanical design, development, and integration of defense system equipment and undersea sensors. You will collaborate across disciplines, prototype and validate designs, assist with manufacturing and supplier integration, and travel occasionally to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM major by start date.
• Experience with 3-D modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components, sub-assemblies, and major end items for defense system equipment.
• Collaborate across disciplines/functions to solve complex technical challenges in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Validate design fit via rapid prototyping and/or simulation.
• Support the factory and suppliers with product integration.
• Participate in design peer reviews, resolving action items, and conduct trade studies to make sound technical decisions.
• Occasional CONUS travel to customer sites or suppliers; international travel optional.
