Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial seeks a hands-on Mechanical Engineer for aerospace components in Wichita, KS. You will design, repair, and elevate hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems to support FAA repair station activities and ensure compliant, high-quality component repair solutions.

In a fast-paced, on-site environment, you’ll lead debugging efforts, validate designs with test stands, and collaborate across teams to resolve production issues while maintaining schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in a regulated aerospace/defense environment.
• Hands-on experience with assembly, disassembly, and testing of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering efforts to evaluate feasibility and resolve production issues.
• Plan and execute engineering programs—defining milestones, scope, and customer requirements.
• Develop and implement repair capabilities for hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical components.
• Design, build, and modify test stands and equipment for validation and testing.
• Create and revise designs for cost reduction and obsolescence management.
• Review drawings, bills of materials, procedures, and engineering reports.
• Develop DER repair packages and support FAA FAR-145 compliance.
• Perform analyses such as FEA, reliability studies, FMEA, and safety assessments.
• Manage engineering project schedules and budgets, providing progress reports.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to solve complex engineering and operational challenges.
