GP Strategies Government Solutions, Inc. seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer or Designer/Drafter for our Chatsworth, CA aerospace team. The role revolves around creating 2D drawings and 3D models with AutoCAD and SolidWorks for pressure vessels, piping, and assemblies.

The candidate will perform ASME code calculations, fatigue analysis, and support nondestructive testing. Proficiency in Office and MS Project is required, with occasional travel for supplier audits and project reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in aerospace, pressure systems, or high-reliability manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of ASME VIII and ASME B31.3.
• Familiarity with ASNT nondestructive testing methods; Acoustic Emission testing preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Office Suite, and MS Project.

Responsabilités

• Create/revise 2D drawings and 3D models for aerospace components using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Perform ASME Code calculations and cycle life analyses (fatigue, fracture mechanics).
• Support nondestructive testing methods and Acoustic Emission Testing.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and presentations; manage project schedules in MS Project.
• Collaborate in design reviews, ECOs, and regulatory compliance.
• Travel up to 20% for supplier audits, customer meetings, or field support.
