Advantage Technical in Tampa, FL is seeking a Mechanical Design Technician to create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for electro-mechanical assemblies. You will design structures, weldments, machined parts, sheet metal, and printed parts using SolidWorks and CAD software, supporting manufacturing and engineering change processes.

The role requires 2–10 years of mechanical design experience, strong CAD skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced aerospace/defense environment. U.S.

Qualifications

• 2-10 years mechanical design experience (Mid-Level or Senior).
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and 3D parametric modeling.
• Experience creating detailed engineering drawings and assemblies.
• Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
• Mechanical aptitude in a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or related field preferred.
• US Citizenship required; military/defense experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and release 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for electro-mechanical assemblies and components.
• Design structures, weldments, machined parts, sheet metal components, and printed parts using SolidWorks and CAD software.
• Support manufacturing by resolving design issues and implementing engineering change documentation.
• Assist with design reviews, customer presentations, acceptance testing, and configuration audits.
• Ensure designs meet customer specifications and applicable aerospace, military, and industry standards.
