Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation in Lone Tree, Colorado is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to design, develop, test, and certify complex mechanical systems for aerospace and defense. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure performance and quality standards are met.

The ISR/IAS business area leads in high-performance aerospace systems with end-to-end capabilities from design to training and logistics support. A Secret clearance is required, and a hybrid work environment is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Higher level degree may substitute for experience.
• Proficient understanding of mechanical design principles and CAD software.
• Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
• Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary design teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Security clearance

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for aerospace/defense.
• Conduct analyses and simulations to validate designs.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures.
• Prepare and review technical documentation and reports.
