Sierra Nevada Company, LLC in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to help design, develop, test, and deploy mechanical structures for aerospace and defense programs.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative mechanical solutions, develop test plans, and document results throughout the product life cycle, while pursuing a Secret clearance and meeting schedule-driven milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 0-2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or related role.
• Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and CAD software.
• Conceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
• Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems.
• Support the creation and execution of test plans for mechanical products.
• Perform basic analyses and simulations to validate designs.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports for review.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design requirements are met.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design and testing issues.
