Aerotek is seeking an Aerospace Structures Technician / Mechanical Assembler in the Los Angeles/Long Beach area. You will drill, assemble, bond, and torque aerospace components with high precision, using specialized tooling and measurement instruments.

The role emphasizes strict tolerances, clean 5S work areas, and compliance with aerospace quality procedures. Typical duties include setting up fixtures, applying protective coatings, and performing in-process inspections to verify dimensions.

Qualifications

• Experience drilling precision holes in aerospace structural components and flight hardware.
• Proficient with torque wrenches to verify torque values.
• Knowledge of structural bonding processes and bond prep.

Responsibilities

• Drill precision holes in aerospace structural components and flight hardware, selecting drill motors and methods.
• Set up tooling, jigs, fixtures for accurate drilling operations.
• Assemble structural hardware using structural adhesives and proper bond prep.
• Install and torque fasteners to specifications and torque requirements.
• Install threaded inserts like helicoils with proper fit.
