Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Material Safety Engineer II in Ohio to assess hazardous materials, perform material risk analyses, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize material selection for aerospace and defense systems.

You will develop recommendations, maintain hazardous material databases, ensure compliance with federal regulations, and support design engineers across multi-disciplinary programs in a hybrid office setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in material science or related role.
• Higher level degree may substitute for experience.
• Proficient understanding of material properties.
• General understanding of local, state, or federal hazardous materials regulations.
• Exposure to working in multi-disciplinary design & development teams.
