Job summary

Boeing is seeking a materials and processes engineer for a contract assignment through a Boeing-approved third party. You will define material specs, qualify tools and processes, and analyze failures while integrating LEAN and safety principles across labs, design, and manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• ABET is preferred but not required.
• 2+ years of work experience in engineering (aerospace preferred).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; safety and regulatory compliance awareness.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain material specifications and acceptance criteria for metals, alloys, coatings, heat treatments, and joining processes.
• Investigate production failures, perform root-cause analysis, implement CAPA.
• Plan and execute metallurgical testing and characterization (e.g., hardness, tensile, fracture toughness, corrosion, NDI).
• Review supplier material certifications and test reports.
• Maintain materials/process data and present findings to stakeholders.
