Job summary

TRIUMP Interiors in Taylorsville, NC seeks a Material & Process Engineer to maintain and advance its core composite technologies, including film, scrim, and laminate materials. The role balances hands-on engineering with strategic product development, regulatory oversight, and customer interface across aerospace interior lines.

You will work with the Tech Fellow as SME, drive process improvements, supplier qualification, and support NPI from concept through qualification and launch, interfacing

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Materials Science, Chemical, Polymers) or related technical discipline.
• 3–5 years in engineering, material development, or process engineering (web-processing or composites).
• 6–8+ years in aerospace material qualification and NPI management.

Responsibilities

• Technical Fellowship Mentorship and knowledge transfer related to R&D polymer chemistry, adhesives, web handling, and lamination/coating processes.
• Maintain material obsolescence, update BOMs/TDS, ensure regulatory alignment (FAA, OEM requirements, ITAR).
• Apply lamination/coating and web-handling principles to optimize yields and bond strength; lead cost-reduction through sourcing.
• Lead NPI projects from material selection to qualification and launch; collaborate with Boeing, Airbus, Embraer and internal teams.
