Job summary

RTX in Andover, MA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Materials and Process Engineering team. You will work with subject matter experts, support development, design, and failure analysis across a range of product applications, and perform mechanical testing with attention to documentation and procedures.

Candidates are pursuing a B.S. in Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering and have hands-on experience with lab equipment; U.S. citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with instrumental lab equipment (Instron, hardness testers, SEM, polishers/grinders)
• Ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance; US citizenship is required

Responsibilities

• Assessing materials based on conformance to specifications
• Assessing parts and hardware based on conformance to design requirements
• Following standard written protocols and developing/testing plans
• Reviewing material documentation and assessment of specifications
• Engagement with subject matter experts to understand material usage
• Engagement with suppliers
