Job summary

PPG Aerospace in Mojave, CA seeks an experienced Construction Engineer to oversee a $35 million project portfolio onsite, coordinating with GAMT and Operations leads to ensure timely engineering responses and safe, compliant construction.

You will engage at early design stages to contribute constructability input, manage field verifications, and drive progress with field teams and contractors in a hands-on construction environment.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience managing construction projects.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Knowledge of California codes and COR permits.
• US Citizens, Green Card holders, or political asylees eligible.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support and coordination for the Mojave PPG Aerospace project portfolio, including interaction with GAMT and Operations engineering leads to deliver solutions, monitor status, and ensure timely responses during construction.
• Engage early in project development and design stages to offer constructability input and minimize field risks.
• Maintain knowledge of PPG standards and core construction activities (piping, foundations, lifts, instrumentation, electrical) to assist field reviews and readiness assessments.
• Participate in QA/QC, schedule controls, estimates, systems identification, purchasing, contracting, field HSE, and construction readiness reviews.
• Conduct routine field verifications and visits to ensure accurate deliverables and monitor progress.
• Coordinate with Hargrove engineering to develop work packages and track permits to closure, with regular Permit Lead meetings.
• Facilitate timely RFIs responses to support smooth construction operations.
