Job summary

PPG's Mojave, CA facility is seeking a Production Planner to develop and maintain detailed production schedules aligned with demand, capacity, and material availability. You will work onsite and report to the Supply Chain Manager, using MRP to optimize planning and coordination across manufacturing operations.

The role emphasizes data-driven scheduling, continuous improvement, and collaboration with production teams to meet targets while ensuring quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Working understanding of MRP systems within a manufacturing or QA environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis.
• Internship, co-op, or coursework related to manufacturing, production planning, or supply chain.
• Familiarity with ERP systems used in manufacturing environments.
• You must have or be eligible to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed production schedules to meet required volumes while considering plant capacity and material availability.
• Use MRP functionality within a manufacturing or QA system to support production planning activities.
• Perform pack planning and bulk planning based on production requirements.
• Monitor actual production figures versus planned schedules and identify variances.
• Prepare and implement schedule adjustments in response to production constraints, material shortages, or demand changes.
• Support production meetings by providing schedule updates and production data.
• Ensure planning activities align with quality, safety, and manufacturing standards.
• Maintain accurate production planning records and reports to support continuous improvement projects.
