Job summary

RTX Pratt & Whitney facility in Asheville is seeking an onsite Materials/Shipping & Receiving specialist. The role supports receiving, storage, issue, and transport of a wide range of parts and materials. You will perform pick/pack, kitting, inventory counts, and ensure accurate electronic documentation.

This position requires OSHA safety awareness and at least 1 year in logistics or warehouse operations. The successful candidate will join a production environment with a 3x12 shift schedule

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ years of experience in materials, shipping & receiving, warehouse operations, or logistics.
• Knowledge of OSHA and general safety practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, issue and transport a variety of materials including rough stores, finished parts, consumables, tooling and gages.
• Perform pick and pack, kitting, and shipping operations to fulfill in-plant and external customer requirements, ensuring documentation is accurate and entered in the system.
• Operate and maintain cribs, mini cribs, and other storage locations; manage supplies and consumables.
• Provide information and fulfill special requests for approved items; conduct physical inventory counts and item number verification.
• Record findings and adjust database; operate packing and labeling equipment; follow approved packing methods to prevent damage.
• Provide internal and external material transportation; ensure loads are secured for transit.
• May operate material handling equipment such as stackers and fork trucks; perform duties to ship, receive, store, and distribute items.
• Perform 5S activities in the area; perform other duties as assigned.
