Job summary

Ducommun, Inc. is seeking a Scriber at our Orange, CA facility to prepare aircraft/aerospace parts for chemical milling by scribing patterns into protected maskants using templates and specialized tools.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, strong reading and math skills, and the ability to follow precise work orders, maintain safety, and collaborate with teams in a controlled manufacturing environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and timecards.
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Proficient in basic arithmetic with various units of measure.

Responsibilities

• Verify Work Order and CMT number; align pattern tool on part.
• Scribe parts with a sharp blade and apply Mylar tape for maskant repair.
• Conduct strip spark tests and protect tool holes.
• Differentiate clad from bare material.
• Verify maskant adhesion and inspect part quality.
• Load scribed parts safely onto transportation carts.
• Maintain clean and organized workspace; repair and protect parts.
• Follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
• Handle and manage hazardous waste responsibly.
• Lead projects and participate in project committees as assigned.
