Job summary

Moeller Aerospace in Wixom, MI is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to develop and maintain precision manufacturing processes for aerospace components. You will create manufacturing plans, routers, and detailed operation sheets, participate in NPI projects, and drive lean improvements across the value stream.

Responsibilities include supporting tool design, quality engineering, CNC programming, and collaboration with customers and suppliers to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 5 years in a low volume/high mix CNC machining environment.
• Experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality systems is a definite asset.
• Ability to read prints and interpret GD&T specs.
• Hands-on machining knowledge in aerospace materials like Inco, Titanium, Stainless Steel.

Responsibilities

• Develop the initial Manufacturing Plan based on customer prints and specifications.
• Create detailed manufacturing routers outlining every operation.
• Generate 3D solid models from customer prints.
• Prepare operation sheets in SolidWorks describing each step of the process.
• Lead internal technical reviews to ensure buy-in before production release.
• Assist Tool Design with work-holding and gaging concepts.
• Define proper gaging and inspection techniques with Quality Engineering.
• Support setup and debugging of machining operations.
• Collaborate with Customers and Suppliers to ensure quality and delivery.
• Assist in FAI package preparation and issue resolution.
• Perform continuous improvement reviews using lean tools.
