Job summary

Actalent in Savannah, GA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to optimize aircraft production by designing machines, tooling and operation sequences for efficient assembly and continuous improvement.

You will interpret drawings and models, apply PFMEA and control plans, and lead robotics initiatives while coordinating with engineering, production and quality teams on a 12-month contract with PTO/holidays negotiable.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• Minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience interpreting specifications, engineering drawings, and models.
• Experience adapting machine and equipment designs to meet specific factory and production requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and arrange machines, tooling, and sequences of operations to support aircraft assembly and production objectives.
• Optimize performance of manufacturing tasks to improve efficiency, throughput, and quality.
• Interpret engineering drawings and 3D models to ensure accurate translation into manufacturing processes and work instructions.
• Incorporate design and process modifications into production operations to maintain configuration compliance.
• Adapt machine and equipment designs to meet factory and production requirements.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process capability and productivity.
• Develop PFMEA and control plans to manage process risks and quality controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing issues and implement improvements.
• Support introduction of robotics and automation into processes where applicable.
• Apply project management methods to plan, coordinate, and track activities.
