Job summary

AAA USA is actively seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineers to support aerospace, defense, transportation, and advanced manufacturing programs. You will work with production teams to improve methods, solve issues, and support DFM initiatives.

The role emphasizes hands-on shop floor work, cross-functional collaboration, and applying CAD/PDM skills to optimize manufacturability across multiple programs nationwide. Relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or complex assembly.
  • Strong hands-on understanding of machining, sheet metal, welding, composites, and mechanical or electrical assembly, with depth in at least one area.
  • Strong CAD proficiency and fluency reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience with DFM analysis and manufacturing-specific documentation, or willingness to build this capability.
  • ERP experience such as Epicor or SAP, including eBOM/mBOM reconciliation and routings.
  • Credibility on the shop floor and a track record of following through on assigned work.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with mechanics, technicians, and production personnel to identify and resolve manufacturing and assembly issues.
  • Improve manufacturing methods, processes, ergonomics, work content, and production flow within assigned areas.
  • Analyze build sequences and develop practical, efficient, repeatable manufacturing processes.
  • Use CAD models and drawings to understand design intent and identify opportunities to improve manufacturability.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing drawings, models, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Ensure manufacturing changes remain traceable to engineering requirements and maintain control.
  • Perform DFM analysis and recommend design or process improvements.
  • Present engineering recommendations and design-change proposals to leadership.
  • Support initiatives to reduce labor hours, production costs, and cycle time.
  • Assist with ERP/mBOM alignment, routings, and production data.
