United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for Raptor machining to design and scale production processes for critical hardware. You will partner with design, machinists, and quality to implement DFM updates and robust process controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or physics.
• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (student project team and internship experience qualifies).
• Master’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or aerospace engineering preferred.
• Experience with design for manufacturing and machining processes.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and implement machining processes to improve engine cost, quality, and production rate.
• Collaborate with design, machinists, technicians, and quality to ensure robust processes.
• Partner with design to implement DFM updates and manage production changes.
• Implement machining process controls to enable lights-out production.
• Ensure part quality meets requirements with low overhead.
• Develop SPC tools and demonstrate process capability.
• Oversee full circle machining from fixture design to inspection.
• Continue to improve processes for manufacturability and reliability.
• Ensure on-time or ahead-of-schedule delivery.
• Oversee introduction of new products and revisions.
