Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Machinist II to support NASA Johnson Space Center programs in Houston, TX. You will plan, set up, and operate CNC and manual machines to fabricate precision components per blueprints and specs.

The role requires at least 4 years of machinist experience, familiarity with CNC languages, and the ability to interpret drawings. You will work in a fast-paced team environment with safety as a priority and opportunities to mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 4 years of machinist experience.
• Familiarity with at least one CNC programming language.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, layout, machine and assemble parts to tight tolerances.
• Set up and operate lathes, mills, and related equipment to meet specs.
• Determine machining sequences, tools, and speeds under supervision.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Independently adjust tooling and machine settings for quality finishes.
• Train less experienced machinists and maintain an organized workspace.
